Winter Time

Before Christmas break, we made acrostic poems and snowflakes! To end the day, we had some time to show off our dancing skills :) Anthony showed us his break dancing moves and some of the other students entered into the circle to show off some moves. It was very impressive!

Buddy Time

We are so lucky to be reading buddies with Mrs. Cote’s 1st graders! Every Thursday, we walk down to her classroom and read with our buddies. Today, we changed things up! Instead of reading, we helped our buddies make paper turkeys. We had a blast, as you can see :)

Hooray for Reading!

I love to give out awards when kids earn them! Danari and Alen are the first two students to pass 5 AR reading levels! They have been diligently reading and taking quizzes after each book. In order to pass, you have to get 80% or higher on two quizzes for that reading level. The quiz tests your comprehension. Once they pass 5 levels, I will buy them any candy bar they want!

Way to go, Alen and Danari!

I don't know why the picture is so blurry!

The Foreign Counting System

In math, we are working in base five, which will help students develop a deeper and more flexible understanding of place value that will help with multi digit numbers.

Today, used our base 5 pieces to build strips, mats, and mat strips!
